Charlie’s Story

Charlie was raving mad about her work situation! The VP was asking her to work with one of the agents that brought in a ton of money for the company, but nobody liked working with her. This was going to be riddled with conflict, and she wasn’t being paid enough to do this. Her family and friends were telling her to power through. Charlie reached out to us based on an Instagram post that resonated with her and asked us if we could help resolve her challenges at work.

THE APPROACH

Through a series of sessions, we dove into the problem Charlie was having at work. It included devising a 5-point action plan for her performance review, which captured the components for negotiating to get what she needed and wanted. Armed with the tools to have an impactful conversation, she knew how to approach the conversation, drive home her ‘must-haves’, and a willingness to walk away if she didn’t get them.

THE RESULTS

Charlie aimed to get 3 of her 5 goals but wound up getting all 5! More money: check. Promotion: check. Intern to assist her: check. Out clause in 1 years’ time: check. Support from the VP: check . Her performance review went swimmingly, and the VP was thrilled with her initiative as well as her 5-point action plan.
