I belong in the field of wildflowers.
I belong free.
I built four walls around the field,
brick by brick, so no one can get in.
Then I put a cage on the wall and I locked myself in.
I can see the field.
I watch as the flowers dance in the wind.
I think it is time to open the door to that cage
and demolish the wall.
I want to dance with the wildflowers again.
I want to feel the sun on my face.
I want to feel the sun in my hair.
I want the sweet smell of flowers to fill my nostrils.
I went to feel the grass between my toes.
I want to be free.
Today, I am in the cage.
Tomorrow, I am in the field.
The days beyond, I can go anywhere my wings take me.
